Is there a way in FirstSpirit to define in a template that a PNG image should be output as a JPEG instead? Resolutions seem like they should do this but thay do not.
Hi Simon,
do you need a PNG to JPG at the output or is a conversion during the upload what you are searching for?

We'd like PNGs (or BMPs for that matter) to be kept as they are in the Media Store but to then have the option to output JPEGs on the published website.
Ideally it work just as Resolutions do for image dimensions, where ORIGINAL would be the uncompressed unscaled PNG/BMP, and PUBLISHED_HALF_SIZE would be the compressed JPEG of smaller dimensions.
Hi,
as far as I know this is not possible out of the box. You could probably convert them manually in a schedule task between your generation and your deployment tasks.

Hello Simon,
do you need further help or did the given answers already help you? If so it would be great if you mark the "correct answer".
If you found a solution by yourself it would be very kind of you, if you posted it here.
