serious UI Problems and too many clicks neccessary

http://db.tt/PpyHxFm

as i already postet on twitter. to much blank space, to much stuff in that window in general. a simple list and search field with an ok button should be enough to be honest. and why does it take 8 clicks (after selecting the text!) to get to this window where i can finally select the target for my link?

java apps in general also have the problem of not looking like a native app (because they are not). but it would be nice if the application would at least look native. please add some spaces between the menu points at least. and maybe even use the colors and icons i configured in my os. that would be a huge step forward Smiley Happy

on UI design in general i reccommend the smashing book vol 1-3 Smiley Wink

...please add a bit of space here (menu bar)

The problem with menu bar is fixed in FirstSpirit 4.2 R4.

...why not use native windows icons

...because Mac OS X users do not like them.
