Standard CERTIFICATE KEYSTORES for embedded FireFox-browser in FirstSpirit JavaClient missing

Dear Community, Dear FirstSpirit team,

up to now (FS 4.2 R4 446) there is no standard keystore for the embedded FirstSpirit JavaClient browser "Mozilla XULRUNNER" available.

This leads to certificate errors when requesting an internal preview via SSL (see screenshot enclosed) in the FirstSpirit JavaClient:

Certificate error 1
Certificate error 2
certificate_issuer.pngcertificate_only_valid_for_rbwcms4.png

To prevent this, offer the following files in your FirstSpirit standard delivery in the following path "<fs4_inst_dir>/data/clientapp/jxbrowser/common/jxProfile"

- cert8.db

- key3.db

- cert_override.txt

containing the official Certificate Authorities (CA) public keys (like a standard browser does contain them). Well-known CAs are:

- Verisign

- Thawte

- etc.

Kind regards,
Holger King

Hello Holger

thank you for your idea to improve FirstSpirit. It is important for us to learn from the experiences of our customers and partners. For this reason we appreciate feedback and any suggestion.

We have evaluated the issue once again, but have no plans for a realisation in the near future. Because operating system-specific third party applications in the AppCenter of the FirstSpirit SiteArchitect will no longer be supported from Oracle Java 9 (exception: Google Chrome, includes: Mozilla Firefox).

You can find more details about our feature selection process in our Features Policy.

Best regards

Jan
