DG Release (Google Consent Mode) - 14 January 2021

Today's release for the Universal Consent Platform adds support for Google Consent Mode (Beta).

Google Consent Mode

As part of today’s release we have added support for Google’s new Consent Mode (Beta).

What is Google Consent mode?

Consent mode (beta) allows you to adjust how your Google tags behave based on the consent status of your users. You can indicate whether consent has been granted for Analytics and Ads cookies. Google's tags will dynamically adapt, only utilizing measurement tools for the specified purposes when consent has been given by the user.

To learn more about consent mode you can find details in Google’s analytics support section.

Implementing Google Consent mode instructions can be found here

With the tag available, add the snippet of code to the top of your page.

  • Fixed a bug on US targeted notices where the button to re-open the options dialogue was visible.
  • WCAG updated:  Escape key will now close the options dialogue.
  • WCAG updated:  Fixed an issue where links to cross-origin were not working.

Thanks,

Jeff
