We recently migrated to FS 5.2 with the help of a partner.  We have the login page set as the default start page (somewhere) once the user logs into FS.

I'm hoping to set the first page the content author sees as something else.  Thanks.

Solved, thanks to e-spirit help:

"You can change the start page for Content Creator in the Site Architect.  In the Site Structure area, right click on the containing folder for the page you want to make the start page and select "Set as default start menu".  This will change it in CC, but also for the whole site, so just remember to set it back to the main page before pushing the site out."
