Hello Mr. King.
For the information how to configure native applications on the FirstSpirit server please refer to our "Manual for Administrators" in chapter 4.9 "Roll-out process for native applications (from V4.2)".
For the configuration of the jxbrowser component please refer to the Firefox and jxbrowser documentation available on their project sites.
According to this post it might be possible to "copy the profile files (cert8.db, key3.db and cert_override.txt) from the local firefox profile (with SSL certificate) folder into jxbrowser firefox profile folder". I assume in FirstSpirit this is the folder "~FS4/firstspirit4/data/clientapp/jxbrowser/common/jxProfile/". Please let me know, if this solution worked for you.
I hope my input helps solving your issue.
Best regards,
Bernd Eßmann
Dear Mr. Eßmann,
we provided the suggested file resources below:
<fs4_install_dir>/data/clientapp/jxbrowser/common/jxProfile
ls -tlra
total 424
-rw-r--r-- 1 fs4 wcms 1215 Feb 15 13:23 cert_override.txt
-rw-r--r-- 1 fs4 wcms 962 Mar 1 15:21 prefs.js
drwxr-xr-x 4 fs4 wcms 96 Mar 1 15:21 ..
-rw-r--r-- 1 fs4 wcms 16384 Mar 14 18:21 key3.db
-rw-r--r-- 1 fs4 wcms 196608 Mar 14 18:21 cert8.db
restarted the JavaClient, but got the same error.
Hello Mr. King.
I just provided some hints where to look for the solution. Did you check the referenced resources for further information? What's about the roll-out of the files into the users' local jxbrowser directory? If the files didn't arrive in the local copy, please check the referenced admin documentation how to setup the roll-out process.
Kind regards,
Bernd Eßmann
Dear Mr. Eßmann,
when following the FirstSpirit AdminDocumentation in chapter 4.3.1.8, the local client path, where the browser profile is stored, is by default:
- starting with FS 4.2 R4, for each FirstSpirit version the client path includes the corresponding FirstSpirit major, minor and release version number, e.g.: \.firstspirit_4.2R4 (this path can be found on the client machine, where the JavaClient has been executed and started!)
- when looking into that directoy, there the following folder structure is automatically created by starting the FirstSpirit JavaClient:
./jxbrowser/jxProfile
- in that directory the following files are given:
kih1fe@fe78147:~/.firstspirit_4.2R4/jxbrowser/jxProfile$ ls -la
drwxr-xr-x 2 kih1fe kih1fe 4096 2011-03-16 13:52 .

- when updating the files you mentioned in your first thread out of a firefox package that has been shipped by Bosch (including the "cert8.db", "key3.db" and "cert_override.txt") in the above client-path directly, the internal preview DID WORK!
Now, the IMPORTANT QUESTION:
- how to automatically distribute the files to the client?
- according to chapter "4.9.2" the right path should be "<fs4_inst_dir>/data//clientapp/jxbrowser/common"
- when copying the three files to the upper directory the file will NOT BE TRANSFERRED to the client machine!
- might that be a BUG?
Hint: we know, that normally the delivery of that files should be done automatically when having copied them to the corresponding FirstSpirit SERVER directory. To just test, whether the files are correct and work fine on the client-side in JavaClient, we copied them directly to the above path.
Any more suggestions?
Hello Mr. King,
- when copying the three files to the upper directory the file will NOT BE TRANSFERRED to the client machine!
- might that be a BUG?
did you delete the client rollout directory after adding the new files to /data/clientapp/jxbrowser/common ?
If youd did, then i think the problem might be the crc check sum file.
As documented in chapter 4.9.3 of Manual for Administrators the crc.txt is stored in the os specific clientapp directory (e.g. /data/clientapp/jxbrowser/windows)
This file is written during the server start up. To avoid a sever restart, you should try the rollout again after deleting the crc.txt file.
Hello Mr. Gockel,
after having:
the files (including the keystore) have been transferred to the local client path when starting the JavaClient:
kih1fe@fe78147:~/.firstspirit_4.2R4/jxbrowser/jxProfile$ ls -ltra

-rw-r--r-- 1 kih1fe kih1fe 1215 2011-03-17 09:58 cert_override.txt
-rw-r--r-- 1 kih1fe kih1fe 16384 2011-03-17 09:58 key3.db
-rw-r--r-- 1 kih1fe kih1fe 962 2011-03-17 09:58 prefs.js
drwxr-xr-x 2 kih1fe kih1fe 4096 2011-03-17 09:58 .
drwxr-xr-x 5 kih1fe kih1fe 4096 2011-03-17 09:58 ..
But the initialization of the embedded browser is failing:

Please check the javaclient logfile (javaws log). Are there any error logging messages before the exceptions (e.g. starting with ""Could not create browser)?

Regarding the inlinebrowser.httpproxy and IE issue: Please, open a new thread or a helpdesk ticket if its a bug.
