The FirstSpirit™ Google Search Appliance (GSA) Connector brings high-powered Google search technology to company websites and intranet systems, and improves the quality of search results. Website visitors and portal users thus receive an impressive tool that lets them find information quickly and easily with a familiar search field – both for content in FirstSpirit and for content from enterprise applications like SharePoint, Lotus Notes and the file system.
The Google Search Appliance allows you to search for information in more than 220 types of files. It is a simple, scalable solution for universal searches of all FirstSpirit content, files and databases, but also social networks and cloud applications. The Connector fully integrates the GSA functionality into FirstSpirit using a standard interface. The search results can be included directly on the website or customized and published using the FirstSpirit DynamicPersonalization module, for instance on the intranet or extranet.
Automatic indexing in real time
In addition to an efficient search, the module offers other benefits such as real-time completion of the Google Search Appliance index. Because the module is integrated into the FirstSpirit order management system, content changes are imported into the GSA index in real time. That means all of the meta-information for a document can automatically be taken from the CMS and classified. It is no longer necessary to provide this information on the HTML side. Feeds ensure that the content is recorded by the search engine.
