Auto-numbering the pages created through content creator or site architecture

Hello Community,

Is it possible to have auto-numbering on the pages and sub-pages that we create through content creator or site architecture?

For now we have to add it manually like 1. Page ---> 1.1-->sub-page and so on,

We are creating an index manually as of now.

and would like to know if we could rename the folders and pages automatically and add the numbering as prefixes depending on the node level.

So that next time when the user creates a "new page" they don't have to worry about prefixing the names of their page with numbering in order to match the index level

Also the auto-numbering must be adjusted on creating a new page or if one of the pages/sub-pages are deleted.

Please find attached snapshots of the index structure.

Many Thanks!

Hi Yamini,

could you explain the use case behind this requirement? For what purpose and where do you need the numbering? If it‘s only for displaying navigation, there are other possibilities that won’t rely on renaming nodes.

Hi Michael,

"

-->

When a user is creating a new page they always have to give the numbering of their own with regards to the previous ones , so need to know if it is possible to that they just enter some name for the template and in the index we give the numbering through script.

This is the use case as mentioned above.

If it is possible to rename the templates through a script or something that'd be nice.

But if not, I think it would be great to know the options of displaying the auto-numbering on the index of content creator rather than renaming nodes.
