Currently the CMS allows pages and files to be deleted from the hosting server by either moving that content to a non-published state or by deleting that content.  However folders created either intentionally or by mistake are left behind.  We need a way from the CMS to delete the folder on the hosting server when necessary.  Ideally deleting a folder in the CMS should either delete the folder on the hosting server or include the option to delete the folder when applicable.  Folders can cause issues for some application code, such as extensionless urls.

Extend the FTP Mount feature? We already have a context menu item to download files so adding a similar one to delete folders would seem reasonable. Deleting assets should remain as a publishing responsibility though.
