I am told that the way to find an asset by url is to go to Audit>>Asset Publish..., which is not intuitive.  It would be far better and intuitive to enabling search by URL through the existing search and/or advanced search options.

We publish the asset id as a meta tag. Ctrl+U and it's right at the top of the page. Also becomes accessible via JS:
