It is a bit annoying and probably unnecessary that a profile avatar is required and that it must be less than 256x256 pixels.  It would be nice to remove this limit and allow the website to adjust images as it needs.

Thanks for sharing. 

Though the avatar field has the *, it is not actually required to create a new user. I've created an enhancement for our engineering team to remove the asterisk.

The idea to have the CMS dynamically adjust images sizes is interesting. We'll keep you posted if this idea progresses.
