Are next-gen image formats supported?

I attempted to use a .webp image format, and it displayed in the preview view. However, it did not display in the live/dev/stage workflows. Are next-gen image formats supported?

The Crownpeak CMS platform is a SaaS based platform which essentially publishes assets to a standard web server (eg. IIS, Apache, Tomcat, etc..). That being said, the ability to serve .webp image formats is not dependent on the Crownpeak CMS but rather the web server serving the images. I believe for the most part all of the servers mentioned should support this. I suspect the issue may just be a matter of perhaps adding a mime-type. If you need assistance with this for your specific environment, please don't hesitate to open up a support case.
