DQM Checkpoints and Standards

Checkpoints - Paragraphs should be no longer than [100] words in length

Why is this important?

Paragraphs should be kept short to make the page easy to scan. Shorter paragraphs improve readability, and promote effective online communication. When creating content for your site consideration should be taken regarding the length of paragraphs to ensure your content is readable and easy to scan.

Shorter paragraphs improve readability and promote effective online communication. Clear and concise content allows your visitors to quickly summarize the message that the webpage is promoting. 100 words typically translates to a paragraph of about 8 lines in length. We chose to specify this in terms of the number of words rather than lines because we found that clients found this easier to work with.

How can I resolve this issue?

Keep paragraphs short and relevant and consider spliting up longer paragraphs. Alternatively review if there is an opportunity to add sub headings to break up a paragraphs into smaller sections and make it easier to navigate and read.
