DQM Checkpoints and Standards

Checkpoints - EMBED tags must have an associated NOEMBED tag

To embed external resources, the <embed> element can be used. As the content that is embedded can have a completely or mostly inaccessible format (for example, flash videos), the <noembed> element provides a way to specify an accessible alternative in case the <embed> element is not supported. Many use cases for the <embed> event have been replaced by native <audio> and <video> elements, which have built-in accessibility features.
Affects: Accessibility (WCAG 2.0 Level A, 1.1.1)
Technical Details: This checkpoint examines the entire HTML source code of a page and reports if within thew <embed> tag it does not contain <noembed>
