How to have content expire automatically

Question

How can I expire content automatically?

Answer

There are three options to automatically expire content:

1. Workflow scheduled transition

2. Manual schedule

This would require that the workflow be updated with a Scheduled Transition from the Live state to the Retired state:

3. Schedule via code using an input field for expiry, i.e.:

asset.SetSchedule("Retire Date",lastEndDate.AddDays(1));

Code can be placed in either the post_input.aspx or post_save.aspx and requires a named Scheduled Transition mentioned in #2.
